Rainbow Garden 2009-2019
After our Rainbow Mennonite Church book group finished Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, we decided to start a vegetable garden in the vacant lot across from the church.
Longtime Rainbow Church members Hal and Bernita Boyts donated the land for the Garden
2009 Season - six plots for six families
2010 Season
2011 season – down to just two families, no photos!
2012 Season - Garden reboots as a service to Rainbow Freedom School
2013 Season -- raised beds go in with KCCG support; Kansas Master Gardeners visit; volunteers!!
2014 Season -- Freedom School, volunteers, eggplant wins Best of Show at Wyandotte County Fair!
2015 Season
2016 Season -- corner lot developed
2017 Season -- Giving Grove in the corner lotq, fall cleanup, volunteers!!
2018 Season -- water, thanks to Wyco and KCCG!
2019 Season -- shed gets painted!
2020: Rest in peace, good garden.
